Since this past weekend or so, Mars has held a temporary Kite pattern in the sky with Uranus, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto.
It’s been a defining moment in the world, and if you have planets around the 0-5 degree range of any air or fire signs, chances are it’s making its mark in your personal life too. Especially Libra, because that’s the trigger point, but Leo’s don’t get left out of the ring, with Mercury tagging us in for another head-to-head with Pluto.
The universe has been keeping it rare but we are all kinda, well, done.
The outer planets Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto have been making a pattern in the sky that is pretty rare. Well the pattern itself isn’t rare, per se, but having this many outer planets in such close, harmonious alignments is not something that happens often. Which, maybe, some of us (myself included) are kinda getting weary of all these “rare” transits happening over and over since 2020, am I right?
But here we are. 🤷🏽♀️
The pattern I’m talking about is a small triangle created with a trine and two sextiles. Since it’s composed of harmonious aspects, it’s supposed to be a nicer one than some of the other rare ones we’ve been getting (although Saturn and Neptune together right smack in the middle isn’t as nice).
The Talent Triangle- Just add 💦
In natal astrology, having planets in this configuration is called a Talent Triangle. It shows where that person can combine the energy of the three planets in a positive way that shows up as a talent, skill or gift. Since it is composed of two sextiles, this talent requires development and honing to reap its full potential.
You have to add some sweat 💦 equity.
So we can see this energy as having potential that needs activation.
Then here comes Mars in Libra, doing what it does, starting 💩 by opposing Saturn and Neptune at the midpoint of this talent triangle. It also trines both Pluto and Uranus on either side, making the full kite formation.
So what is a kite pattern?
A kite is when a grand trine has an opposition at its midpoint. This opposition also connects to the other two points of the grand trine with sextiles. This many connections between every planet involved in the configuration creates a dynamic energy where a challenging aspect is surrounded, and supported by, multiple trines and sextiles.
The Grand Trine portion of the kite
A grand trine is made up of three trines connected into a wide equilateral triangle pattern. Since the three sides are equal length and an equal distance apart from each other, this pattern is thought to have a lot of positive flow. The energy from each planet involved works easily together, making the moment feel a bit aligned or if it’s in a natal chart, it makes the person move through life in an easy aligned way.
And while this is described as a positive energy, yes, it is also one that can be “too easy.” There can be so much flow that it lacks motivation or growth capacity.
(Tbh, I sometimes wonder if someone just added that in so the rest of us wouldn’t feel bad because I know someone with this configuration in the birth chart and he became a self-made millionaire in his twenties, but I digress.)
The Kite Can Fly 🦋
Since the grand trine can lack motivation and growth capacity, the opposition in a Kite pattern brings in the pressure, the force, the struggle, that this energy needs to disrupt the flow and cause it to grow.
Just like a seedling has to burst through the soil or a butterfly needs to break through the cocoon in order for its wings to work, the grand trine needs a bit of a booster to get the most out of its energy.
That’s where the grand kite differs from the grand trine. With its opposition and additional sextiles, it brings just enough volatility to catapult quite a change or event into our lives.
Especially this one, because Jupiter and Venus were hugged up in Cancer and Mercury stationing direct was throwing in its two cents from Leo. When this many planets are at the party, it’s sure to show up in our lives. Take note of what occurred in your life this past weekend. Journal about the last few days in as much detail as you can. Among those details, there is something, either big or small, that will grow in your life.
